Corporate Attorney J.W. Dewbre Named GPA's General Counsel
First General Counsel added to GPA's senior team for even better service

August 28, 2007 (Dallas, TX) Group & Pension Administrators, Inc., (GPA) one of the largest third-party benefit administrators in the Southwestern United States, today announced that J.W. Dewbre has been named as its General Counsel.  A senior attorney with deep experience in the Fortune 500 environment and healthcare industry, Mr. Dewbre has proven success in transaction accomplishment, negotiation and the broad interpretation and application of corporate law.  At GPA, he is responsible for the legal affairs of the company.

About J.W. Dewbre

With extensive experience in corporate law and the healthcare industry, J.W. Dewbre has served in a senior corporate counsel capacity at leading companies including the American Heart Association, American General Corporation (the second largest provider of insurance and retirement products in the US and purchaser of USLIFE Corporation) and the Republic National Life Insurance Company.  Mr Dewbre is an experienced lawyer, being admitted to practice in all State Courts in Texas, U.S. Tax Court, U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Texas, Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals and the United States Supreme Court.  He has served as Chairman of the Legislative Committee Texas Association of Life and Health Insurers and the Reinsurance Subcommittee International Law Section American Bar Association and was elected President of the Corporate Counsel Section State Bar of Texas.  He is published in numerous legal publications.  Notable features include pieces on "Computer Security” for the North Texas Association of Insurance Counsel and “Confidentiality and Non-Disclosure Agreements" for the American Heart Association.  Mr. Dewbre holds a J.D. (LL.B) from Southern Methodist University in Dallas and a BS from Texas A&M.
